Last Sunday we had our annual Boat Slip and Buoy Member Appreciation Party/Fishing contest. Many sunfish and crappies were caught, along with a few nice bass! We Enjoyed a great hot dog lunch followed by root beer floats on the deck and in the screen house. While eating, members waited for their names to be called during the super fun prize drawing Captain Jim always puts together. Thanks marina members for another great time!

Ben Anderson With a nice Largemouth!

Fishing has remained solid during the hot temps! Sunfish and Crappies have still been biting well. Fishing the deep weed edges (10'-15' of water) on some of the good reefs like, Center, North and Anderson's. Most pan fisherman have been using wax worms, but crawlers and leeches are working great too!

Bass fishing has remained strong. As usual on Lake Waconia you can find them deep or shallow right now. Shallow water spots like Camp Manakiki, Reinke's Bay, and in the slop of Waconia bay, have been giving up some quality Largemouth. Deeper water weededges on North, Keg's and Cemetary reefs- along with the rock piles on Pilsbury have been great options as well!

Charlie Unger and his monster Sheepshead!
The big Sheepshead have been turning up lately too! Charlie Unger and his fishing partner John Mcginnis tied into a whopper! We do not have a length, but they estimated it at 30 pounds! Looking at the picture, I am not going to call it a fish story!
