In Towne Marina Lake Waconia Fishing Report - 6/7/17

Summer is here! Warm temps have greeted us this week, and by the weekend it will be HOT.  Surface water temperatures are into the low 70’s as of noon today, but we expect those numbers to climb into the mid-to-upper 70’s by the end of Sunday.

Sunfish are currently in shallow water on their spawning beds and are actively biting.  There has been plenty of crappie action as well, with 9 to 10 inch keepers being common, with anglers fishing in 9 to 12 feet of water.  Walleyes have been bucking normal lake trends on certain days.  Yesterday (6/6/17), there were reports of late-afternoon walleyes biting in the same areas as the crappies.  That’s usually uncommon, but this season has we’ve seen plenty of things we normally don’t see.  Most common walleye areas continue to be around Cemetery, Kegs and North Reefs in 12 to 17 feet of water. Bass continue to bite in most depths as well.  All in all, it has been a VERY good week of fishing for those out wetting a line.  Below are a couple of pics illustrating the success of the week!

If you are looking to beat the heat this weekend, rent a pontoon from us and take a dip in the lake to cool off.  Our pontoons are equipped with swim ladders to make getting in and out of the water easy.  Call (952) 442-2096 to reserve!  http://intownemarina.com/Pontoon&BoatRental.htm
