Now that we have the cold windy weather out of the way, we expect the spring bite on Lake Waconia to pick up as the water temps warm. As of 10 am today (4/29) the water temp is 54.5 degrees (1 foot down in 8 feet of water). Typically we see more movement of crappies in the shallows as water temps consistently stay above the high-50's (hopefully by this weekend). Until then, we continue to see the best crappie bite in 8 to 12 feet of water in Waconia Bay. Anglers have been getting their share of 9 to 11 inchers to keep, while sorting out the littler ones. Action has been very good, as Waconia continues to be a great crappie fishery!
Don't forget, we will be OPEN ALL NIGHT on Friday, May 8th for the Fishing Opener! Stop in to say hi, have a warm beverage, pick up some bait or tackle, or share your fishing story of the night. We'd love to take your picture of your big catch!
Pontoon and boat rental will begin soon. We will update in the near future when they are ready for rent!
